Upgrade

Black Crouch is back with another fast-paced techno thriller set in the near-future, where editing human genes is possible, but also illegal. Logan is part of the Gene Protection Agency, a government agency tasked with finding anyone participating in gene editing, but everything changes when he discovers that his DNA has been altered. On the run from the GPA, Logan must learn how to utilize his upgrades in order to find and stop the person responsible before they unleash an “upgrade” into the population that could be catastrophic. I thoroughly enjoy Crouch’s works, and Upgrade is no exception as it explores the potential (both good and bad) of technologies that could be relevant in the not-so-distant future. –Rebecca, Atlanta
